Qualifications:
Adrian has been a registered Psychologist for 20 years and has worked across a variety of public and private sector organisations. He has operated as an Organisational Psychologist, a Researcher, and a Counselling Psychologist. Clients have ranged from executive level management, to disadvantaged job seekers, to private practice clients.  He has conducted postgraduate research in the area of unemployment, goal orientation and mental well-being. He has assisted research projects in the areas of aged care (dementia) and safety (human factors/crew resource management). 
Approach to Therapy:
Adrian’s approach to therapy is practical and down to earth. He uses methods and techniques that have shown by research to be effective. He believes in partnering with his clients to assist them to achieve the highest levels of emotional health, mental well-being, and happiness possible. 
Adrian has operated in private practice counselling clients with a broad range of concerns. These include anxiety, depression, stress, family and relationship issues, substance issues, bereavement. The full spectrum of unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. 
Adrian provides a safe, caring and non-judgmental environment in which clients can express their concerns and be heard. He assists clients identify their goals, and then he and his client work to achieve those outcomes.  He uses an integrative approach, utilising whatever techniques that will best assist the client. To achieve this he leans most heavily on cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.  
 


Main Areas of Interest:

Adrian has a special interest in men’s mental and emotional health. He is particularly concerned about how men’s lack of/latent help seeking behaviours negatively impact on the horrifically high suicide rates. It is his intention to investigate this area within the construction industry for his master’s research.
