BPsySc (Hons); Grad Cert Couns; MPsych (Clin)

Psychologist

Qualifications:
Casey has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (with Honours) at The University of Queensland, a Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the Australian Catholic University. Casey has worked in a range of settings including private clinics, community, acute, and hospital outpatient units. Casey works with both adults and children and has a wide array of experiences with mental health difficulties.
Approach to Therapy:
Casey provides therapy services primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. She believes that clients experience the best outcome from therapy which involves tailored and individualised care, and where appropriate will also integrate techniques from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Biopsychosocial approaches. In addition, Casey uses Motivational Interviewing for clients who are feeling a little stuck in their journey to better mental health. Casey also has experience in administering, interpreting and providing feedback for both cognitive and personality assessments.
Casey aims to provide clients with evidence-based and time-limited plan, which is collaboratively discussed right from the beginning. Casey is gentle and supportive in her approach, while also being transparent and open about what may be going on for each client. Casey believes that each person is unique and genuinely enjoys helping people work towards their goals.
