Qualifications:
Emma received her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and Honours (Psychology) from the University of Southern Queensland. She has completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
Emma has been working in the psychology field since 2012, when she began working in the Department of Defence. She provided counselling for workplace stress and adjustment to various life changes, critical incident debriefing, and psychological testing. Since then, Emma has practiced in various settings with people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma, relationship challenges, perinatal mental health issues, grief and loss.  
Approach to Therapy:
Emma’s approach to therapy is client-centered and non-judgmental. She uses evidence based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. Emma believes in using therapy styles that suit the client’s needs, and focuses on a strong therapeutic relationship.


Main Areas of Interest:

Emma enjoys helping people improve practical skills such as emotion regulation, effective communication, problem solving and goal setting. She also believes in the importance of addressing past issues and patterns of behavior, as this brings insight and improves well-being.
