Qualifications:
Georgia Sakrzewski has been a Registered Psychologist in Queensland since 2004.  Georgia has worked as the Statewide Coordinator of the Queensland Prison Mental Health Service (Queensland Health Forensic Mental Health Service), coordinating delivery of all mental health services (psychological and psychiatric) into Queensland prisons.  She has undertaken post-graduate studies at the University of Queensland into prisoners with serious mental illness returning to the community and works in private practice.
 
 
 
Approach to Therapy:
Georgia provides evidence-based, time limited psychological intervention to help her clients to tackle their presenting problems, whilst helping clients learn adaptive skills they can use for the rest of their lives.  Georgia uses individually-tailored assessment and evaluation processes to ensure that therapy is assisting the client. Georgia’s open, non-judgemental approach means clients can feel comfortable to work on their problems in a safe and accepting environment.
 
Georgia has worked directly with a range of adults with diverse and challenging problems, helping them to overcome their struggles in a positive way and to experience more fulfilling lives. Georgia enjoys helping clients with anxiety and mood disorders, and those who are experiencing workplace stress, and life transition and adjustment issues.  
 
Georgia has a special interest in health-related problems, including sleep disorders and fertility issues, as well as chronic disease and pain management.  She also has a special interest in assisting clients with grief and loss issues, and those managing a terminal illness or life limiting condition, and their families and carers.
 
More recently Georgia has become a trained Neuroptimal Neurofeedback Clinician and is working with treatment resistant anxiety and depression clients alongside the Psychiatry team at The Therapeutic Mind Clinic. 
 
Georgia's therapeutic approaches involves Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and relaxation and meditation
