My name is Liisa Meys and I completed my 6-year psychology degree at the University of Queensland, including a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and Master of Clinical Psychology. I am currently a candidate for the clinical psychology registrar program. I have worked in both the private and public sector with a wide range of clients. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults and have a passion for working with children, adults and families alike. I have particular experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse difficulties and other mood difficulties and children with behavioural and emotional difficulties, including those with learning disorders, autism and ADHD.
Approach to Therapy:
I am a warm, friendly and approachable psychologist who believes in providing the highest quality of treatment to clients. I believe therapy should provide a safe space where people can explore their emotions, behaviours and motivations in a comfortable environment. I believe in individually tailoring treatment plans to what clients need and request from me as a psychologist and I am to achieve the goals set by clients. I am a directive yet warm psychologist with a passion for aiding clients with mood and substance use difficulties.

Main Areas of Interest:

I have expertise working with children, parents, adolescents and adults. My specialties lie in treating Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Trauma (Childhood and Adult) and Substance Abuse Disorders across the lifespan. I also provide strategies aimed at decreasing difficult behaviours in children and adolescents and provide assessment and treatment reports for children, adolescents and adults alike.
