Teracia believes in creating a safe environment in which clients are able to reflect on past and current experiences to gain an understanding and insight of how this may influence their mental and emotional well-being. This approach in turn helps clients to gain meaning from life and empower clients to develop an enriching way of life moving forward.
Teracia has a special interest in working with children and adolescents, and individuals who have experienced trauma. See below for a list of services offered by Teracia.
Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Teracia has worked in the trauma field for eight years. Traumatic experiences such as sexual/physical/emotional harm, natural disasters, and bullying can sometimes result in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This can impact an individual at an emotional, behavioural and social level including symptoms such as intrusive thoughts/memories, avoidance, negative thinking patterns, emotional dysregulation, dissociation, and altered physiological or behavioural reactivity. Teracia works with her clients by utilising trauma informed interventions to address each area of impact, and assist the client in developing strategies to improve their overall mental wellbeing.
Working with Children and Adolescents
Teracia has a special interest in working with children, adolescents and families. Children and adolescents may experience a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, learning and behavioural difficulties and social difficulties. Teracia utilises a range of evidence based assessments and interventions whilst taking into account the client’s individual needs and strengths to assist them with their goals for treatment.
