Eske is a qualified psychologist with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Master of Science (Psychology), and a PhD in Behaviour Genetics from the University of Amsterdam. She also holds a Diploma of Counselling and became a registered psychologist in Australia in 2024. Originally from the Netherlands, Eske moved to Brisbane in 2016 and developed a passion for working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Eske creates a warm, non-judgmental space for clients to process past experiences and build healthier coping strategies. She uses a variety of approaches, including CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness, tailoring her methods to each client's needs. Eske has experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, parenting issues, domestic violence, relationship problems, and work stress.
Eske is also a researcher, leading the Translational Neurogenomics Laboratory at QIMR Berghofer, where she focuses on genetic risk factors for psychiatric disorders and has published over 170 articles. Her expertise allows her to support adolescents, adults, and the elderly, particularly in managing anxiety, depression, grief, work stress, and migration challenges.
